When it comes to manifesting something as personal and impactful as losing weight, putting in some extra effort helps make your desires a reality.
One of the things that helped me to finally get the body I always dreamed of was using writing techniques on paper in order to manifest it.
Once I did that, it all happened very quickly and effortlessly, so I wanted to share my tips with you!
1) Create your vision and write it down

However, my biggest tip here is to not only focus on how you will look but also on how you will feel!
Manifestation is all about emotions and feelings, and frankly, things like a number on the scale are not very long-lasting motivation.
Instead, really get into detail about how you feel and what it will be like when you have achieved your goal.
2) Use the 369 method
The 369 method is a very powerful way to manifest your desires. It can help you to get what you want faster and more effectively.
The 369 method is so powerful because it combines the power of intention and the law of attraction with writing.
This can help you to manifest your desires even faster.
Here is how the 369 method works:
Write down your goal in the form of an affirmation three times in the morning, 6 times during the day, and 9 times at night before bed.
This will keep reminding you of your manifestation and the act of writing it down will solidify that goal in your mind.
It will also help you to stay focused on your goal, which will help to make it happen.
Some affirmations related to weight-loss that you could use here are:
- I am at a healthy weight.
- I feel confident in my body.
- I love my body.
- I am making progress every day.
- I am losing weight without even thinking about it.
- I am healthy and fit.
- Every day I choose to get healthier.
It doesn’t matter too much what you use here, as long as it makes you feel good and helps you to stay focused on your goal.
3) Journal about your limiting beliefs
When you look at the number on the scale and say to yourself, “I want to lose 10 pounds,” and that’s what you’ve been telling yourself for months, or even years, you are focusing on the wrong thing.
You are looking at the weight, but you are not looking at the beliefs behind the weight.
Losing weight is a physical process, but it is also a mental one.
It is a process of changing your thoughts and limiting beliefs about yourself and your body.
When you journal about your limiting beliefs, you can get to the root of your unhealthy relationship with food and your body.
This will help you to understand the source of your issues, accept yourself, and let go of the need to be perfect.
You see, if you truly struggle with losing weight, there is usually something mental that is holding you back.
Truthfully, with very very few exceptions, everyone has the ability to be at a healthy weight. If they are not, that is often due to limiting beliefs about themselves.
These could sound something like:
- I am not good enough.
- I have no self-control.
- As soon as I look at food, I gain weight.
- I am undesirable.
- I have no discipline.
The good news?
Limiting beliefs have one thing in common: they are wrong!
They are completely false and they are not based on reality.
When you write down your limiting beliefs, you can see the truth.
You can see that they have no basis in reality and that they are not true.
This will help you to let go of them and move toward a healthier relationship with food and your body.
Once you do that, everything else will be effortless.
4) Write a list of what you would feel like when you lose the weight
When you are trying to manifest something, it is easy to get caught up in what you want to achieve, but it is also important to focus on the feelings you will have once you have reached your goal.
You are not just trying to lose weight, but to feel happier, healthier, and more confident as well.
So, when you are journaling, try to focus on the feelings you hope to have when you have lost the weight.
What do you hope it will do for your confidence? What will the new clothes you are able to fit into do for your mood? How will your new healthy habits make you feel?
Focusing on the feelings as you are writing down your goals will really help solidify your manifestation.
Plus, it will give you something to refer back to when you try to visualize your dream life and body or meditate on it.
Emotions are the most important part of a manifestation, so really take some time to write it all down!
5) Use paper to track your progress (not just the scale numbers)
When you are just focusing on the number on the scale, it is easy to get discouraged and give up when you don’t see the results you want right away.
That is why it is important to track your progress in other ways as well.
You could, for example, keep a journal where you write down your goals, your current habits, and the progress you are making towards achieving them.
You can also use a journal to track how you are feeling on a regular basis.
But not just that, you can also use a journal to track your exercise progress and any other positive habits you want to cultivate.
This will help you to stay focused and motivated, and it will also make it easier for you to see your progress, which can help keep you motivated when you start losing hope.
These so-called non-scale victories are amazing and they show up in very different ways throughout your life.
Unless you write them down and keep track of them, it’s easy to forget, and then the number on the scale can be discouraging.
But the thing is – the number on the scale is not always accurate.
Muscle and fat look very different, for example, so even if you weigh the same, you could be almost half the size of what you were before, looking toned and lean now.
This is why at a certain point the scale is not that effective anymore.
Other victories you might notice are:
- your clothes fit better
- feeling more confident
- not overeating when having junk food
- respecting your hunger and fullness cues
- getting stronger
Focusing on these things will be much more motivating, which will make manifestation a lot easier.
6) Journal as if you have already manifested it
This can be kind of strange when you first start doing it, but it can also be very effective.
When you journal as if you have already manifested your ideal body and life, you are going to get clearer about what you want and where you are currently at.
This will also help you to manifest your desires faster. When you are clear on what you want and what you are aiming for, it is easier to make it happen.
When you journal as if you have already manifested your ideal body and life, you can also start to notice the things that are currently blocking you from getting there.
This will help you to identify your limiting beliefs and negative thought patterns, which is super helpful when it comes to letting go of them and moving towards your ideal self.
So, how do you do it?
Well, just sit down and write a journal entry as if the you in a few months was writing it.
It could be something like “Today I went to the gym. I finally managed to get 2 pullups! I felt amazing, I still can’t believe the amount of confidence I feel right now. I may even go for a run tomorrow morning. I’ve never been so strong, lean, and happy in my life.”
You get the idea, simply write from that perspective.
7) Write down the ideal habits and character traits of the person you want to become
When you take the time to journal about the ideal habits and character traits that you want to cultivate, you can start to shift the way you think about yourself and others.
This can help to make you feel better about yourself and make it easier for you to push away negative thoughts and replace them with positive ones.
This can also help to keep you focused on your goals and make it easier for you to reach them.

Maybe that’s discipline, self-love, ambition, etc.
You can also write down the habits your ideal self cultivates, like drinking a gallon of water a day, eating mindfully, working out regularly, etc.
Creating this ideal persona will give you the perfect blueprint of what you need to work on!
8) Journal about what makes you feel good
When you journal about what makes you feel good, you can start to see patterns in your life.
You can see what makes you happy, what makes you angry, and what makes you feel unhappy.
This can help you to understand yourself better and make it easier to eliminate the things in your life that are blocking you from being happy.

You see, more often than not, when we don’t have what we want in life, like our dream body, for example, it’s because something deep down is making us unhappy.
When you take the time to journal about what makes you feel good, it is easier to reprogram your mind and get in touch with what makes you happy and what gives you energy.
This can help you to stop relying on food for comfort and make it easier for you to focus on what truly makes you happy.
You probably already know how important gratitude is for manifestation, so using this opportunity to write down what makes you feel good and what you are grateful for in your life is an amazing way to bring more of what you want into your life.
9) Try to understand what makes you turn to food for comfort by journaling whenever you feel tempted to overeat
When you are journaling and you feel tempted to snack on junk food or overeat, you can use that as an opportunity to explore what is going on inside you.
This can be helpful when you are trying to understand why you turn to food for comfort.
It can help you to get in touch with your emotions, acknowledge them, and learn how to deal with them in a healthier way.

When you can identify why you are turning to food for comfort and what you could be doing instead, losing weight will suddenly become a lot easier.
You will be able to manifest your dream body in no time.
One of the best ways to do that is by journaling.
I used to journal whenever I would get the urge to eat even though I knew realistically that I wasn’t truly hungry.
I’d journal about what was going on in my body and why I needed comfort. The answers were pretty obvious, I had just never looked at it like that before.
10) Set realistic and healthy goals for yourself
Last but not least, make sure that your goals are realistic and that you are setting yourself up for success.
If you are trying to lose 20 pounds in two weeks, that is not realistic and is not going to help you to succeed.
Let alone that trying to manifest something like that is everything but healthy.
Take the time to set goals for yourself and make sure that they are both realistic and healthy.
Choose goals that are attainable and that you can realistically achieve. And make sure to celebrate your wins and progress.
This will help you to stay motivated and keep going. Manifesting weight loss can be a tricky process, but with patience and perseverance, you can do it.
Write down goals for yourself, but don’t be too rigid about them – give yourself some time and be patient.
