A new trend has been flooding the world of social media and it has to do with shifting your reality.
Basically, it’s a method of entering the reality of your dreams and living in it for a while! Pretty cool if you ask me.
But how do you know whether reality shifting is working for you?
If you’ve been trying to consciously shift your realities, this post is for you. I’m going to tell you exactly what shifting symptoms you should look out for so that you know it’s working!
What is reality shifting?
First, let’s take a look at what really shifting is all about.
Reality shifting involves performing different rituals and methods to move your consciousness into an alternative desired reality. It’s something that has become incredibly popular on TikTok, and for good reason.
It’s pretty awesome.
The end result is that you’re experiencing a new reality – sort of like you’re wearing virtual reality goggles.
A few of the most popular ways include the raven method, the pillow method, and the Julia method.
What you probably want to know is does it actually work? Can you really experience an alternative reality?
Well, if you experience any of the following 16 reality shifting symptoms, the answer is yes!
1) You see flickering white lights
One of the most common symptoms people report when entering their dream reality is seeing lights or colors that flicker and change.
Some people claim to see white and purple lights that are subtle and only appear for a split second, others say they see lights that seem to pulsate in rhythm with their heartbeat for a few seconds.
If you are experiencing these sensory changes when you begin reality shifting, then you may be doing it correctly!
You see, the body has a way of showing you that you are entering into a different state, and you might be familiar with it from other practices, such as meditation or breathwork.
Seeing white lights for a moment or two can be the indication that you have, in fact, entered your dream reality and are now experiencing a reality shift.
2) Your body is vibrating
The strangest thing about reality shifting is that your body might start vibrating.
This is a common symptom and it’s actually really cool sometimes.
You may feel like you’re going to shake all over, and you’ll hear a buzzing noise in your ears.
You might also feel dizzy or nauseous, with the sensation that everything around you is spinning while still remaining completely still.
This is because your brain has entered what can be likened to a lucid dreaming state where the world around you isn’t what it seems and is instead your own creation.
Feeling your body vibrate is a great way to tell whether or not your reality shifting is working!
3) A gifted advisor confirms it
The signs above and below will give you a good idea about whether you are reality shifting.
But a surefire way to know for sure is to speak with a gifted advisor.
They can answer questions like, am I lucid dreaming? How can I shift realities?
The problem is finding someone you can trust.
That’s why I recommend Psychic Source. When I signed up for a reading, they provided me with a unique insight into where my life was going, including who I am meant to be with.
Having tried several online advisors, I think they’re the most caring, compassionate and helpful network of gifted advisors out there.

4) You feel like you have a blackout
When you enter a state of reality shifting, it’s not uncommon to feel like you are about to have a blackout.
This is also why it’s crucial to do these types of practices in a safe environment, preferably lying down in bed.
Most of the time, you won’t actually blackout, but your body can still feel dizzy and nauseous.
You see, it’s not a normal thing to shift into a completely different reality, so your body and mind can become overwhelmed easily.
The most important thing to remember?
Never, ever try this practice when you are driving or in water (like the bathtub)!
You never know how your body will react, and if you pass out, you can put yourself in life-threatening danger!
5) Your sense of time changes
One of the first things that happen when reality shifting is working is that your sense of time changes and you start feeling like it’s going faster or slower than usual.
Have you ever woken up from a dream and it feels as if years have passed, when you’ve only been asleep for a couple of hours?
Reality shifting is not unlike dreaming, so your perception of time will be warped.
This is also how you can distinguish it from simple imagination.
You see, when you imagine a scenario in your head, you are usually still aware of how much time is passing, more or less.
While you’re in your dream reality, there is no more sense of time.
6) You feel like you’re dreaming but you’re awake
One of the most common symptoms of shifting realities is that you feel like you’re dreaming but you’re actually awake.
This is because your conscious and unconscious minds are creating your new reality in real-time.
For a lot of people it can be really tricky to discern whether they are lucid dreaming or reality shifting due to this very reason – they feel almost identical!
However, if you notice all the other signs from this post, you are most probably experiencing a reality shift.
7) You feel happier than usual
A big symptom of reality shifting is that your overall mood will improve. (and how could it not – you are spending your time in your ultimate dream universe)
However, this doesn’t happen to everyone and I know that sometimes, this constant need to be happy or positive can be annoying when it comes to spirituality.
I mean, are you also tired of hearing the same message when it comes to spirituality?
Are you exhausted from trying to always be the best version of yourself, of always trying to be positive?
If so, there’s a reason why:
You’ve been sold toxic spirituality.
Don’t feel bad about it though, so many of us have fallen into this trap. Including the shaman Rudá Iandé.
In this incredible free video, Rudá explains how his initial approach to spirituality did more harm than good.
Now, with over 30 years in the field of spirituality, he hopes his experience can help others avoid the same mistakes.
So what makes Rudá trustworthy? How do you know you won’t get more of the same toxic crap?
Well, Rudá isn’t going to tell you how to practice your spirituality. Instead, he’s going to give you the tools to find empowerment from within.
Every exercise in the video will put you back in touch with your core self, step by step.

8) You want to sleep more than usual
The next symptom of reality shifting might come as a surprise: if you want to sleep more than usual, this means that reality shifting is working!
You see, reality shifts are a state where your mind is much more engaged than when you are usually resting, after all you are literally creating a whole reality in your brain!
That can get pretty exhausting pretty quickly, which is why, when you shift repeatedly, you might notice a bigger need for sleep than usual.
It’s important to note that these are not medical facts and they should not be taken as such; these are simply my personal observations based on my own experiences with reality shifts as well as other people who experience reality shifts too!
If your sleep need seems abnormal, you might want to ask a doctor to make sure that nothing else is going on.
To be safe, you can also just stop shifting realities for a couple of days and see if your energy levels stabilize!
9) Your body feels numb
This one is a biggie.
If you feel like your body is numb while you’re practicing, it’s a sign that you’re subconsciously trying to enter a reality and your body has picked up on it.
When people think about the feeling of being numb, they often describe it as feeling “floaty” or detached from their bodies.
It’s hard to explain what this feels like without experiencing it yourself!
The best way to understand would be to think of how you might feel when floating on water and not needing to paddle to stay afloat.
Turns out this is because technically, your body is still fully awake, but your consciousness is elsewhere, so your brain merely detects your body as an object existing in this reality.
So, if you feel your body go numb when trying to shift, that’s a huge symptom that it’s actually working for you!
10) It happens mostly before you fall asleep and right after you wake up
The first thing to look out for is if you’re experiencing a shift in your reality before you fall asleep or right after you wake up.
That’s usually when it happens the most and is the easiest.
You see, right before we drift off to sleep, we are most susceptible to alternate realities, manifestation, deep meditation, and even astral projection!
Do you know why?
It’s because you are naturally in that state where the mind is alert but the body starts to drift off to sleep.
When you do it during the day, it’s a lot harder to wind down enough to get to that state.
Simply put, if you mostly do it at night or first thing in the morning, that’s a pretty huge sign that you are successful.
11) The script you wrote plays out
When shifting realities, it’s important to have a script written out beforehand.
You see, this essentially just helps with the visualization process and you can tap into your imagination quicker than if you made it all up.
Plus, when you write a script, you have more control over your dream reality.
Now: if you notice that the script you created seems to play out scene by scene, that’s a big symptom that what you are experiencing is, in fact, a reality shift.
Of course, once you get more experienced you might notice that your dream reality plays by its own rules, but in general, it’s a good thing to look out for.
But if you want more clarity on this, I’d suggest speaking to a gifted advisor at Psychic Source.
I mentioned them earlier. They have helped me out in the past and I’ve always found them honest and compassionate in their readings.
So instead of trying to solve all your love problems on your own, speak to an advisor who’ll give you the answers you’re looking for.

12) Your vision changes or you see shapes
One of the most common symptoms of reality shifting is your vision changing.
You may see shapes, colors, or even animals that aren’t there.
If you’re seeing these shapes and colors in any way, then you’re probably entering a dream-like state of shifting reality.
You might also start to get very blurry vision.
This could be a huge clue to reality shifting because it’s one of the most common symptoms.
Usually, this will subside eventually and your vision will clear up, but until then, don’t worry too much if your dream reality seems a bit blurry at first.
13) It feels like real life
One of the biggest symptoms you should look out for is that it feels like you’re in a real-life situation.
It’ll feel as if all of your senses are working the way they normally do, so things might feel just as vivid and detailed as in real life.
Some people have this feeling when they sleep, but with reality shifting, it’s much easier to maintain that sensation.
Simply put, if you find yourself living in a world where everything feels very similar to your normal waking life, then your reality shifting is definitely working!
That brings me to my next point:
14) You can smell things or feel sensations
One of the more obvious symptoms is when you can smell things, or feel sensations, that are not physically there.
For example, if you’re in a shifted reality, and you have the sensation of walking on grass but all around you is pavement- don’t worry! That’s totally normal!
It’s also normal to smell things that aren’t there, like coffee or cookies, or to feel sensations like the cold breeze blowing through your hair.
This is a sign that your reality has shifted.
Think about it: when you have a normal dream, it’s usually not common to smell or feel things, that’s what differentiates dreams from shifting!
If you’re trying to consciously shift realities and this symptom occurs, it means it’s working! Keep going!
15) You get migraines
The next symptom of shifting is not a fun one: you might get migraines.
You see, this is another one that can’t really be based on any scientific facts, only what people report.
However, when you think about it, it does make sense.
Turns out you use your brain quite a lot when you literally create a whole reality with your mind, who would have thought?
As a result, your body can feel a little exhausted, which can lead to headaches or migraines.
Don’t worry, usually, they should subside soon.
As always, if you feel like your headache isn’t normal or it persists for an unusual amount of time, maybe you should get it checked out by a doctor.
After all, you need a healthy brain if you want to keep shifting realities, right?
16) A sense of homesickness
Okay, granted this one might be a bit subjective, but it’s a symptom nonetheless.
Do you feel a sense of homesickness whenever you try to shift reality?
Well, that might be the very sign that what you’re doing is working!
You see, when you successfully shift realities, a part of your consciousness still knows that where you are is not the “real” world, and so that connection is never severed.
This can show up as a sense of homesickness, even though you can’t put your finger on what it is you are missing, exactly.
Be careful not to get obsessed
It’s important to have a balance when you’re trying to shift realities as it can be very addictive.
The more often you do it, the easier it will be to get lost in that world and forget about your life.
I know, it can be so tempting to spend you days living out your dreams at Hogwarts or wherever else you choose to go.
However, shifting realities is, after all, still a method of escapism.
Sure, it’s amazing to dive into a completely different world from time to time, and heck, I’m sure it’s better for you than getting lost in a scrolling frenzy on social media or binge-watching a show.
As with everything, you should look for a healthy balance, though.
It’s important not to spend hours at a time constantly shifting realities and remember that you need to eat, sleep, work and be social sometimes too!
Your real life is still there and it’s important that you don’t forget about that.
Try it out!
Have you already tried shifting realities?
Hopefully, the points above will shed some light on whether you are already shifting.
But if there’s a part of you that still wants to know more, I recommend speaking to a genuine advisor.
