Why am I dreaming about someone I don’t talk to anymore? Revealed

Have you ever had a dream about someone you don’t talk to anymore, and wondered why?

I’ve recently experienced this phenomenon, and it honestly left me feeling confused, perplexed, and even a bit disturbed.

I kept asking myself: why does this happen?

I mean it’s not like I was actively thinking about them throughout the day, so why were they showing up in my dreamscape?

In an attempt to gain more clarity on the situation, I set out to find answers.

After researching all the reasons why I could possibly be dreaming about someone I don’t talk to anymore, this is what I found out…

1) Your dreams represent your desires

First and foremost, dreams are stories. They are an account of what is happening in your unconscious mind.

When you are sleeping, your brain activity slows down, which makes your unconscious thoughts more accessible to your conscious mind.

This is why we often have dreams when we are sleeping.

Dreams are basically your unconscious desires being revealed to your conscious mind.

If you dream about someone you have not been in contact with in a while, it could be because you are longing to reconnect with that person.

As we age, we naturally begin losing connection with people we have known throughout our lifetime.

Sometimes, we don’t even realize we have drifted apart from certain people until they are gone.

Your dreams may be trying to fill the void these people have left in your life.

Dreams are commonly used as a way to fill the gaps in our lives.

Your unconscious wants to repair the broken connections to the people in your life who have become estranged.

It may prompt you to reconnect with these people through your dreams and remind you to reach out to them in your waking life.

In your dreams, you have the opportunity to bridge the gaps in your relationships as you work through emotional issues and come to a better understanding of what transpired between you and these people in the past.

Now: this reason made sense to me – it’s not a coincidence that we speak about the things we want to achieve or do as “dreams”.

The fact that dreams sometimes represent desires was nothing new to me, yet I felt like that couldn’t be the only reason for my dreams about this person I no longer talked to.

There was something more to it.

I tried to research, and I stumbled upon the idea that maybe, my dream was just trying to lead the way…

2) Your dream is trying to guide you

– Dreams are about guidance. Sometimes, you may feel as though you are going through life aimlessly.

Your dreams may be trying to guide you toward a higher purpose in life.

If you are dreaming about someone you don’t talk to anymore, it could be because you were friends with this person during a more significant period of your life.

Certain parts of your life may be less significant than others.

The people, places, and events associated with these periods in your life may not seem as important as the things you are dealing with currently.

Your unconscious is always taking in information. It is constantly reviewing events from your past in order to help you navigate your future.

You see, as you age, you tend to accumulate more experiences. These experiences help shape who you are, but they can also make it difficult to move forward.

If you have been feeling stuck in your life, your dreams may be trying to guide you in a positive direction.

Now: this is where it can get a bit tricky, you can’t just take your dreams literally and then use them as a guide.

This is the moment you need to start reading between the lines.

When it comes to dreams, symbolism is extremely important. Oftentimes, the dream itself will inform you of what specific symbols mean.

You can also find this information in books that specialize in dream interpretation.

To begin, you must understand that your dreams are not literal. You are not dreaming about a person because this person is actually there.

Your unconscious mind is using symbolism to represent something else.

It may be trying to tell you about your feelings toward someone, or it may be trying to tell you that you need to engage in certain activities or make certain decisions in order to move forward with your life.

The biggest thing to note here is that dreams often work with emotions.

What emotions come up during your dreams?

What do you think they are trying to tell you?

When you follow your intuition on that part and simply let yourself be guided by those emotions, you will probably find what you are looking for!

But I still wasn’t satisfied when I found out about this. I knew there was more to it.

That’s when I stumbled over the interesting realization that your dreams can represent a part of yourself!

3) Your dream represents a part of you

People who have been in your life for a significant amount of time are parts of you.

They have contributed to who you are and helped shape you into the person you are today.

Sometimes, your dreams may be showing you that a person from your past is a part of you.

This person may have been someone you have not thought about in a long time.

In your dreams, they may be trying to resurface to help you acknowledge this part of yourself that you have been ignoring.

Certain traits associated with this person could be parts of you that you have been neglecting.

If this person was a close friend, they could be representing a part of you that you have been neglecting to look after properly.

The thing is, even if the people themselves leave our lives and we don’t talk to them anymore, the marks they have left on us will remain.

This can be both a good thing and a bad thing, depending on the situation.

We all have people in our lives who have hurt us, and these people are parts of ourselves.

They are parts that we should learn from and move past. We should not allow them to keep hurting us.

We need to acknowledge these parts, forgive them or let them go and move forward with our lives.

In the same way that we have hurt others in the past, others may have hurt us as well.

However, these parts could also be very positive!

The more I thought about it, the more it made sense – so many aspects of my life were just pieces of people I once loved.

The job I was in was something an ex of mine introduced me to. My favorite hobby stemmed from my best friend from childhood.

Realizing how many pieces of people were still in me, even though the people themselves weren’t anymore was quite a beautiful realization – it made me wonder how many lives I had influenced with my presence.

Now: was my dream trying to point me in this direction? Was there a part of me in my dream that I was neglecting or avoiding looking at?

I interpreted the dream as a reminder that I needed to take better care of myself and my health.

I needed to make sure that I was listening to my body and taking care of it.

But I knew there was more to it, and I found out that there might be unresolved feelings:

4) You have unresolved issues with this person

Your unconscious mind stores all of your emotions, including the ones that are not yet resolved.

When you dream about someone you don’t talk to anymore, it could be because there are unresolved issues between you and that person.

While you are sleeping, your unconscious mind is replaying the details of your daily life.

It is taking in all of the experiences you have and storing them away to access later.

Your unconscious mind may be replaying a specific memory from your past where you had a disagreement with someone you once knew.

It may represent a conflict you have not worked through yet. The details of the memory may not be clear.

Your unconscious mind may be replaying only certain details of the event.

These details could contain important information that could help you work through and resolve the conflict.

You see, I didn’t know this but even though you don’t actively think about someone anymore doesn’t mean that there aren’t any unresolved issues.

As I said, some of these issues could be very positive or even neutral in terms of importance.

However, some could be negative and even harmful to your self-esteem!

If you have unresolved issues with someone from your past, it is best to work through them before they become a part of you.

When you are dreaming about someone from your past, take the opportunity to learn from the experience and move on with your life.

Now: in order to get closure, you don’t necessarily need the other person.

You see, closure is something you do on the inside, and while it can certainly help to have someone else to help you with it, it’s not necessary.

It is something that you do for your own benefit!

There are other ways to get closure, such as writing an email or a letter and then burning it or tearing it up.

This is the most common way to get closure.

If you don’t ever want to have contact with that person again, this is probably the best route for you.

However, if there are unresolved issues between you and someone from your past, this could be an opportunity for growth.

But maybe your dream isn’t about that one person, after all:

5) They are a metaphor for something else

Your dreams are full of symbolism. This can make it difficult to understand what they mean.

If you dream about someone you don’t talk to anymore, this person may represent something else entirely.

This person could represent the qualities you have and the parts of yourself you want to embrace more fully.

The person could also represent your fears. If you dream about someone you don’t talk to anymore, try to identify what they look like in your dream.

This can help you identify the symbolism behind this person in your dream and help you understand what your dream is trying to tell you.

You may not remember every detail of your dream, but you may be able to recall enough to make some connections between the person in your dream and a certain quality you want to embrace more fully.

The important aspect here is – this person might not be the important part of your dream – your brain might have literally just randomly generated their face out of all the people you’ve known to get a completely different point across.

Now: figuring out what metaphor that could be is the tricky part.

In my dream, I honestly didn’t understand any underlying meaning for the life of me.

I even asked a friend who loves reading about this kind of stuff, and she was lost, too.

Luckily, she pointed me to Psychic Source, where you can talk to gifted advisors.

I’m not gonna lie, I was pretty skeptical at first, but I figured “Hey, I’ve done this much research already, why not give it a shot?”.

And boy, am I glad I did!

The advisor at Psychic Source listened intently when I told them about my dream.

They were extremely present with me, and after I finished telling them, they pointed out details that I had no idea were of importance!

After their explanation, my dream suddenly started making a lot more sense, and I could see the hidden meaning behind it!

Honestly, I don’t know if I would have ever figured that out on my own, so if you want to know what your dream means, click here to get your own reading.

But my advisor told me something else: your dreams can help you heal!

6) Your dream wants to help you heal

Dreams are healing processes. When you are asleep, your brain releases serotonin, which is a hormone that helps regulate your mood and makes you feel calm.

This is why your dreams can make you feel relaxed and peaceful when you are sleeping.

Your unconscious mind is constantly replaying memories from your past.

It stores everything that happens to you and everything you see. When you dream about someone you don’t talk to anymore, your unconscious mind is working through the feelings associated with the memories related to that person.

Your unconscious mind may be working through a conflict you had with this person in the past.

It may be trying to help you resolve the feelings you have associated with that person.

It may also be working through emotions related to a friendship that has ended or a relationship that has come to an end.

When you dream about someone you don’t talk to anymore, it can be helpful to identify the emotions you are feeling.

This can help you better understand why your unconscious mind is replaying this memory and what it is trying to help you with.

When you use your dreams as an opportunity to heal, they can be incredibly helpful.

However, in order to do that you have to be willing to look at the more painful parts of yourself.

Sometimes, we simply don’t like to look at the parts of ourselves that are painful.

We don’t like to look at the parts of ourselves that we don’t like and we are afraid to face them because they make us feel ashamed, embarrassed, or insecure.

When you dream about someone you haven’t talked to in a while, it is often because your unconscious mind wants to help you heal the pain associated with that person.

It may be working through a conflict or trying to resolve feelings of hurt or insecurity related to this person.

It can also be helpful for you to think about how this person makes you feel in your dreams.

What emotions do they stir up for you?

Are these emotions positive or negative? How do they make you feel about yourself?

These questions can help reveal what your dreams are trying to tell you about yourself and help you learn more about the way that this person makes you feel.

Now: sometimes, your dream might also represent your anxiety:

7) The dream is a representation of your anxiety

Your dreams are often related to your anxieties. If you are dreaming about someone you don’t talk to anymore, it can be related to your anxieties and fears.

Certain anxieties could be causing you to dream about this person.

If you were friends with this person during a more significant period of your life, your anxieties may be causing you to dream about this person and bring up feelings you had during this time period.

The feelings and emotions you had during this period in your life may still be affecting you in your present life.

Your dreams may be bringing these feelings back to the surface so that you can process them and deal with them.

Your dreams may be helping you work through these anxieties and deal with these feelings that have been buried inside of you for a long time.

Or perhaps you feel different anxieties, like never meeting someone like that again.

Your dreams may be trying to help you process these anxieties and fears so that you can move past them.

Your dreams are often closely related to your fears, anxieties, and insecurities.

I don’t know about you, but I often dream about the things that are making me anxious.

Even though it’s not always fun, it can be a really good thing – it can help you heal.

Now, you’ll be happy to hear that these dreams can also have a very positive connotation:

8) That person is actually your soulmate

You often hear about people meeting their soulmates when they are young.

As you age, you may begin to think that a soulmate is someone that you should have recognized by now.

This is completely false. Your soulmate could actually be someone you have not met yet or who you have already met and haven’t recognized as such.

It could even be someone who you have not been in contact with in a while.

Your dreams may be trying to bring this person to you before you lose the opportunity to meet them.

When you dream about someone you don’t talk to anymore, it may be because your unconscious mind is trying to bring this person to you.

Your unconscious mind is constantly trying to find ways to help you find your soulmate.

Now: this is a far-fetched theory, but when you believe in soulmates, you know that they share a very strong bond.

So strong, that it can even influence your thoughts and dreams!

Does that mean that this person is definitely your soulmate?

No…

However, you could reach out to them and see how it feels talking to them again!

What’s the worst that could happen?

Now, this next reason will be less comfortable:

9) This person mirrors a part of you that you haven’t looked at, yet

The people in your life represent different parts of you.

As you interact with them, you bring out certain qualities of yourself.

If you dream about someone you don’t talk to anymore, this person may be representing a part of you that you have not looked at or realized yet.

The relationship you had with that person may have helped you bring out certain qualities of yourself.

Your dreams may be trying to help you acknowledge and understand these qualities within yourself.

You see, people are constant mirrors of ourselves, and the things that trigger us the most in other people are the things that we have within ourselves but try to not acknowledge.

In your dreams, you can bring out these qualities in yourself without feeling judged by others.

So, your dreams may be trying to help you acknowledge and understand these qualities within yourself.

10) You still love this person

Change is a constant part of life.

We all go through it – some more than others!

However, even though your relationships with people change, the love you have for them can stay forever.

You see, even though you know you are better off without a certain person in your life doesn’t mean you can’t still love them.

Your dreams may be trying to help you acknowledge and understand this love for this person.

So, when you dream about someone you don’t talk to anymore, it’s important to not always take your dreams literally.

Sometimes they are trying to help you see things in a different light!
