No matter what you do, you can’t get them off your mind—like a song on endless repeat, that person is just stuck in your head.

We’ve all been there before, myself included. I always wonder, “what could it possibly mean? Why can’t I get them off my mind?”

Let’s take a look at 18 things being unable to get someone off your mind indicates.

What it indicates

1) There was something left unsaid

Now you’re wondering, why is it hard to get someone off your mind?

When someone is stuck in your mind, it could be that there’s something you still need to say to them. Or, perhaps it’s the other way around.  In any case, something went unsaid the last time you saw them and it’s important that it be said at some point in the future.

It could be an obvious “something”, admitting your feelings for them, or something you completely forgot to mention.

Or, it could be more subtle. Something that you’re not sure of, and it may only reveal itself once you see them again. It can be a big reason why you can’t stop thinking about that person.

Just make sure not to overthink, it can be a hindrance to reaching your dreams.

In this case, the telepathic connection you share shows signs that the person misses you.

2) A real psychic confirms why

The signs above and below in this article will give you a good idea of why you can’t get this person off your mind.

Even so, speaking to a real psychic will give you more clarity on why moving on is proving so difficult.

But how can you find a psychic you trust? In this day and age, it’s so important to stay away from fake ones.

I recently tried Psychic Source after going through a bad break up. They provided me with a unique insight into where my life was going, including who I was meant to be with.

I was actually blown away by how caring, compassionate and knowledgeable they were.

Not only will a genuine psychic tell you why you’re struggling to think of anything, or anyone else, but they’ll let you in on what’s in store for your future.

And this could be just what you need to finally move on.

3) You’re on their mind, too

While not a hard and fast rule, it’s likely that being unable to get someone off your mind indicates that they’re thinking about you, too.

The experience was enjoyable for both of you, you’re both still feeling the thrill of the conversation, the experience, or whatever the interaction may have been. It’s only logical that if you can’t get them off your mind, they’re having a hard time doing the same.

I know that personally when I can’t get someone off my mind, I might just reach out to them. It may not always be the best idea for you, but of the times that I have, they’ve expressed a similar sentiment.

In other words, they had me on their mind, too. It could be the case for you. This is one sign that your twin flame is thinking of you too.

4) You’re physically attracted to them

Physical attraction is one of the most instinctual feelings we have. It can be overwhelming or it can be surprisingly subtle. There’s not necessarily a rhyme or reason to it, either.

In fact, scientists have studied physical attraction for years and have found that so much behind why we’re attracted to people is subliminal. It’s often things we aren’t aware of that attract us to others. But our bodies know.

It could be why you can’t get this person out of your head, long after you talk to them or see them.

But how can you create happy relationships with others, if you’re ignoring the most important one; the relationship you have with yourself?

You see, until you work on that one, you’ll never find the happiness you’re looking for.

I learnt about this from the shaman Rudá Iandê. In his free video on cultivating healthy relationships, he gives you some unique tools that put you back at the center of your world.

He also covers some of the major mistakes most of us make in our relationships, mistakes most of us aren’t even aware of.

So why am I recommending Rudá’s life-changing advice?

Well, for a start, Rudá isn’t your average shaman. He’s been through the same ups and downs in love that most of us have experienced. And through his ancient shamanic teachings, coupled with his very modern-day journey, he’s found the solutions.

And that’s what he wants to share with you.

So if you want to make a real change to your relationships, if you want to cultivate love and happiness, start today by checking out his genuine advice.

5) You’re addicted to the serotonin you felt

When we really like someone, whether physically, emotionally, or otherwise, our brain releases serotonin. It’s one of the many elements of the crazy cocktail that happens in our brains when we are in love.

It doesn’t have to be love, either. It could have been a particularly stimulating conversation, a really good experience shared with someone, or anything else.

When you can’t get that person out of your head, it could be that you’re craving that serotonin hit that the experience gave you.

In other words, the feelings of happiness that washed over you have you hooked and you want more. No wonder you’re unable to get that someone off your mind.

A great way to boost serotonin and increase happiness is to give (and get) hugs.

6) You like the way they make you feel

Sometimes it’s not the person, or the event, or anything specific that happened.

Being able to get someone off your mind could indicate that you really liked the way they made you feel. How so?

Well, it has less to do with the circumstances and more to do with your personal reaction. There was something about this person, the way they accepted you, looked at you, and so on. It made you feel special.

In other words, you can’t stop thinking about them because they made you feel exceptional.

We all deserve to feel exceptional. And when we do, it’s a special occasion. The kind of occasion that makes us unable to get the person who was there off of our minds.

Here are some fascinating psychic signs someone has a crush on you.

7) You’re falling for them

The intoxicating head rush that comes with infatuation is perhaps one of the most euphoric drugs known. There’s nothing like it, falling for someone. Everything about them fascinates you, enthralls you, and keeps you coming back for more.

If you’re wondering why you can’t get someone off your mind, it could indicate that you’re starting to catch feelings.

They could be an old friend, someone you’ve normally taken for granted in the past. However, if you find yourself suddenly thinking about them all the time, it could be because you’re starting to catch feelings.

If you’re falling for someone, it could be why you’re thinking about them all the time.

Want an easy way to know for sure if you’re meant to be with this person? Whether they are, in fact, your soulmate?

I’ve just stumbled upon something really cool…  a professional psychic artist can draw a sketch of what your soulmate looks like.

Even though I was a bit skeptical at first, my friend convinced me to try it out a few weeks ago.

Now I know exactly what my soulmate looks like. The crazy part is that I recognized this person right away.

If you want to know what your soulmate looks like too, get your own sketch drawn here.

8) They’re challenging your worldview

Sometimes the reason we can’t get someone off of our mind is because they’ve sparked something inside of us. What do I mean?

We all have our own perspective of the world, a perspective that should always be open to change. However, sometimes that perspective can be challenged, be it from an event, an experience, reading something, or talking to someone.

When an individual challenges our worldview, it can leave us thinking about it for a long time afterward.

Do we agree with them, do we disagree? How could I have ever thought about things differently, now that this person explained it like that?

These and other similar questions could be running through your head as you think about the person who challenged your worldview, be it by their words or actions.

So, when you’re unable to get someone off of your mind, it could indicate that your worldview has been challenged.

Being open-minded is a wonderful thing. In fact, open-minded people have a different perception of reality.

9) Desire is getting the better of you

When you’re unable to get someone off your mind, it could be indicating that you’re giving in, just a little bit.

Giving in to what? Your inner desires. Maybe you’re just now starting to admit to yourself that you really like this person. Or maybe you’ve known all along, but you’re really indulging yourself this time.

Once you start down this path of desire, it’s hard to turn back. What comes next is the obsession, the infatuation, the fixation.

In other words, you can’t get them off your mind, no matter what you do.

10) They have positive energy

There’s so much we don’t understand about the universe. But you can know if your soulmate is thinking of you.

A growing number of people strongly believe in the power of energy — energy that we give off from ourselves which affects those around us.

This energy comes from inside of us — from our thoughts and our souls.

So, when someone has positive energy, this can affect you quite deeply.

For example, you may feel an overall positive aura around them, making everything seem brighter and lighter. As a result, you just can’t get them out of your mind.

11) You want to help them

If you can’t get someone off your mind, it could indicate that you have a strong desire to help them. Help them how?

Well, it depends on the circumstances. Maybe in your interaction, you recognized a way to teach them something you learned on your journey. Maybe you have some relevant advice that you want to give them.

There’s a number of ways we can help people. After interacting with someone, sometimes I realize something I could have said, or perhaps done, to help them out.

Then, long after the conversation, I still find myself thinking about that person. I can’t get them off of my mind, and there’s not much that I can do about it. Apart from helping them, of course, if it’s possible.

Here’s a bunch of ways you can show unexpected kindness to people.

12) They’ve inspired you

There’s nothing like having the wind in your sails. Those moments at the top of the wave when you feel the most powerful, the most capable, and the most inspired.

To elaborate, there are countless things that can inspire us, and one of the most powerful forms of inspiration can be found in other people.

Therefore, when you’re unable to get someone off your mind, it could indicate that they’ve inspired you in a new way. That source of inspiration is almost as important as inspiration. When I feel inspired, I feel almost indebted to the source.

In other words, if it’s a person who gave me inspiration, I can’t get them off my mind. I think about them almost as much as I think about my newfound inspiration.

If it’s negative

Sometimes it’s hard to get someone off of our mind, not for any positive reasons, but for negative ones.

It’s never fun, but it happens. Sometimes these events run through my head for far longer than positive ones. Let’s take a look at what it might indicate if it’s negative:

13) A real psychic confirms why

The signs above and below in this article will give you a good idea of why you can’t get this person off your mind.

Even so, speaking to a real psychic will give you more clarity on why moving on is proving so difficult.

But how can you find a psychic you trust? In this day and age, it’s so important to stay away from fake ones.

And this could be just what you need to finally move on.

14) You’re still processing the event

If you can’t get someone out of your head it could be because you’re still processing the event. These negative experiences can cause a lot of stress, and that stress can take a long time to digest.

To go even further, only time can begin to ease the stress and pain caused by a negative event. Try not to get caught up in thinking about it over and over, doing so won’t help anything.

If you’ve got someone stuck in your head, be patient, you’re probably still processing the event. The bad experience will leave your mind soon.

Here’s a great article to help you know what it means when you can’t stop thinking about someone and what you can do about it.

15) You’re rewriting what happened

It might not have been the worst experience that’s got someone stuck in your head. It could just be an argument that you had with your friend, a coworker, a family member, or someone not as close to you.

In this case, then, being unable to get them off your mind could indicate that you’re rewriting what happened.

You’re stuck thinking about all the “what if’s” and brainstorming all the comebacks and things that you should have said.

However, this is hardly constructive. It will lead nowhere, only to frustration and annoyance. Try to push the argument from your mind, so you can find peace of mind once more.

On that note…

I want to share something with you that changed my life.

At a time when I was stuck in a rut, my emotions running wild, stress, and anxiety closing in daily, I was introduced to an incredibly invigorating breathwork video, created by the shaman Rudá Iandê.

Now you might be wondering, how can breathwork transform your life and help you move on.

Well, through the breathwork sequences Rudá has created in this life-changing video, you’ll learn to empower your emotions instead of letting them rule you. You’ll be given the tools to dissolve stress and anxiety.

And most importantly, you’ll learn to reconnect with every fiber of your being.

And yes, it really is as simple as taking a breath.

So why am I so confident this will help you?

Well, Rudá isn’t just your average shaman. He’s spent years combining ancient shamanic healing traditions with breathwork techniques to create this unique flow

And if it could bring me out of the rut I was stuck in, I’m sure it could help you too.

So if you’re ready to take a step towards reconnecting with yourself and injecting a breath of fresh air into your life, check out Rudá’s excellent breathwork flow.

16) You’re trying to justify your actions

Remember, you’re not always in the right. Sometimes a negative experience with someone isn’t because of anything that they did, but rather because of something that you did.

In that case, then, being able to get someone off your mind might indicate that you’re trying to justify your actions.

If you feel guilty, you might think back to all the negative things about that person, the way they act, what they do, in an effort to justify yourself.

NEW QUIZ: At the heart of everything you do, think, and feel is your spiritual archetype. Find out your spiritual archetype in our fun new quiz. Take it here.

But be honest, don’t try to justify your actions, it will only lead to self-denial. It’s so important to be honest with ourselves. When we’re honest, we can grow. We all know how vital growth is to life.

Part of being honest with ourselves has to do with our ability to be alone. It’s something I’ve struggled with in the past, but there are a lot of really great reasons to like being alone. Here’s a better look at 21 of them.

17) You’re still working through your emotions

Going through a negative experience with someone is going to cause a lot of emotions. These emotions are going to be stirred up inside of you for a really long time.

In other words, if you’re unable to get someone off your mind, it can indicate that you’re still working through your emotions.

Our emotions are such an important part of us. Indeed, being a healthy person isn’t just about physical health, it’s also about emotional health.

Allowing ourselves to express and work through negative emotions is just as vital as trying to stay positive. In fact, we really should learn to embrace our negative emotions. They define us, give us balance, and help us find our power.

However, it’s never good to dwell. So give yourself the time, patience, and care you would a good friend as you process and work through the negative emotions, and then do your best to move on.

Eventually, that person will leave your head, and so will all that negativity. Furthermore, you’ll have learned something and grown as a person.

18) You’re still trying to heal

Along the lines of the last point, healing will follow a different path for every person. Sometimes it takes very little effort to heal from something negative.

But sometimes, you may not be able to get that person out of your head. It’s okay though, it likely just indicates that you’re still trying to heal. That person is clearly important to you, regardless of how they hurt you (or how they were hurt). It’s okay to acknowledge that. It’s part of the healing process.

They linger in your mind and you can’t seem to get them out of your head. It may be frustrating, but it will change. It won’t be forever.

If you feel the need to get them off your mind, you can try a physical activity or perhaps learning a new skill. Connecting with a community of people can provide the kinds of diversion to help you continue to heal.

Things will get better, one day at a time. And remember, progress isn’t linear. Here’s a great article showing you some signs from the universe that love is coming your way.

Different than obsession

Obsession is a tricky emotion. There really is no hard line defining when something, say a fixation or passion, turns into an obsession.

When it comes to relationships and people, the same thing holds true. What exactly makes someone obsessed? And if they are in fact obsessed, what makes it unhealthy?

According to psychologydictionary.org, obsession is identified most by the fact that it is invasive. In other words, it’s something that isn’t wanted or that can’t be controlled.

Practically speaking, it can look like a lot of things. Being unable to get someone off your mind, no matter what you do, could signal a form of obsession. Here are some signs he’s obsessed with you and what you can do about it.

In most cases though, it’s perfectly normal that you can’t get someone out of your head. Indeed, infatuation can often look a lot like an obsession, especially at first. And that’s okay.

Just remember what it might indicate if you can’t get them off your mind, and be mindful of what that might mean.

You’ll either be able to see that person again soon or soon be on your way to healing.
