Getting a psychic reading can be a fun and exhilarating experience. That is until they suddenly tell you that you’re cursed.
Have you recently gotten the bad news? Then there’s a good chance you’re not sure what to do with that information. It’s not every day you find out you’re cursed, is it?
But are you, really? That’s what we’ll find out today!
What should you do when your psychic tells you you’re cursed?
Before diving headfirst into ways to lift this incredibly ominous curse, the first step you should actually take is to find out whether or not you are actually cursed!
As amazing as psychic readings can be, unfortunately, there are a lot of fraudulent people out there taking advantage of innocent souls like you.
These scammers will often use your own fear against you, pushing you to invest even more money just to feel safe.
For example, paying a fee in return for their help to lift the curse!
You can worry about the curse you allegedly have all you want, and there will be enough time to take care of it, believe me, but first, make sure that you were not the victim of a fraud.
How do you know if the person you went to for a psychic reading is genuine or if they are trying to scam you?
Lucky for you, there are some hallmark signs that indicate fraudulent behavior.
10 signs your psychic is trying to scam you
If your psychic is showing any of the following 10 signs, chances are good you don’t need to worry about that “curse”, after all!
1) Your psychic uses fear
When a person doesn’t have legit psychic abilities, they will often use fear-mongering as their tactic of choice.
When people are scared, they tend to believe a lot more bullsh*t than usual, trying to keep themselves safe.
In a state of fear, humans are easily manipulated, which is ideal for anyone trying to take advantage of them.
That’s exactly how propaganda works, by the way.
Putting people in a state of fear, just to then offer a “savior”, or a solution that will keep them “safe” will make it that much more likely that they will follow your suggestions.
Fraudulent psychics know this, too, which is why when they start talking about terrible misfortunes in your near future (if you don’t do exactly as they say), it’s often a trick.
It’s not okay to exploit people’s fear like that.
A true psychic will never scare you. If there are misfortunes on your path, they will approach the topic in a calm manner, offering you solutions you can do yourself to overcome the obstacles.
That’s the thing, genuine psychics are all about empowering you to take action instead of spending money on a good-luck charm from them.
Did your psychic scare you about how terrible this curse laid on you is? Then chances are good you are dealing with a fraud.
In the end, you are the only one who has the power to change your fate.
2) Your psychic is vague
Authentic psychics have powers we, as “normal” people, often can’t comprehend.
They know things about your life that a stranger can’t possibly know, and their predictions are accurate.
When, on the other hand, you come across a medium that only offers you very general and vague statements, such as “something good will happen soon”, or “you will encounter hardships because of this curse” – run the other way.
You might also notice the exact opposite, a psychic who talks extremely fast, giving you heaps of information without allowing you the time to process it.
This is a tactic to confuse you, in the hopes that some of the information is correct, so that you only remember that part.
If a psychic is truly genuine, they will talk in a slow manner, so that you have time to process information and ask questions where necessary.
They will also be very clear and avoid vague, general statements.
When they say something, you will notice instantly how what they say is true, based on an intuitive feeling.
3) They present themselves as the solution to your problems
Another hallmark sign of a scam psychic is when the solution to lift your curse lies solely with them, and nothing else.
This might be them asking you to pay a fee so that they can lift the curse, buy a protective charm from them, or book another reading immediately so that you can explore the curse.
If a psychic was truly genuine, they will focus on your personal empowerment, telling you ways in which you can help yourself.
On top of that, they would leave plenty of time between readings so that events can play out and the reading doesn’t repeat itself.
In case your psychic is a fraud, they might pressure you into not seeing any other psychics, whereas an authentic medium will encourage getting multiple perspectives.
Does that sound like your psychic? Then your curse might be nothing but an empty threat.
4) You feel uneasy with them
Let me put a little disclaimer here: it is more than normal to feel nervous before a reading, especially your first one.
No wonder, after all, you are about to hear crucial information concerning your future!
If you feel very off, however, then something might be wrong. Feelings you should look out for are:
- Feeling anxious
- Feeling unsettled
- Feeling uncomfortable
- Feeling uneasy
All of these things indicate that your intuition is trying to tell you something: This is a scam!
You are more powerful than you think, and your innate knowledge can see beyond any fraud.
When you’re with a genuine psychic, you will feel calm and relaxed.
In case feelings of fear, confusion, or doubt come up, your psychic will soothe you and talk you through these emotions.
Simply put, only agree to a reading when you feel at ease in the presence of your psychic.
5) You doubt your intuition because of them
In my own experience, our intuition is the most powerful tool we have when seeing a psychic.
A good psychic will help you utilize that intuition so that you can feel empowered.
On the other hand, a fraud will make you doubt yourself, so that you have no other option than to rely on them for help and guidance.
If you’ve had a gut feeling about something but your psychic dismissed it and told you that you’re wrong, chances are good that they are a fraud.
The goal of an authentic psychic reading is that you receive the needed guidance to put the puzzle pieces together yourself!
That’s also your cue to listen to your gut concerning this “curse”. Do you feel like it’s true?
6) Your psychic gives you guarantees that things will/will not happen
We talked about fraudulent psychics being very vague in their statements. Turns out, the opposite is a bad sign, as well.
Every authentic psychic knows that there are no guarantees in life. That’s why they would never promise that something will or will not happen.
If your psychic tells you something will definitely happen, chances are good that they are a fraud.
A genuine psychic will tell you what they see, but they will also make sure to remind you that things can change and you’re in charge of your destiny.

7) They use your insecurities
By now, you should have realized that a true psychic will try to empower you with their readings.
When you stumble across a psychic that blames your misfortunes on you, playing on insecurities like you being too much or not enough, they are exploiting you.
What that will do, is make you feel even more insecure, returning to them to feel a bit better about your future.
Pay attention to how your psychic utilizes the personal information you give them. Do they use information about insecurities to hold power over you?
Especially when they tell you that you’re cursed, they might be just exploiting your insecurity, scaring you even more.
Watch out for that!
8) Your psychic blames your ancestors for your curse
Very often, you will see fraudulent psychics claim that your ancestors made a terrible mistake, ruining the karma of your family and burdening you with a curse.
Needless to say, they can of course rebalance the karma of your family in return for a “small” fee!
Don’t fall for this scam.
Your situation is not impacted by what your ancestors did. An authentic psychic will know that others’ actions are not defining your reality.
When you hear your psychic go on and on about this, leave, knowing in your heart that you are not cursed.
9) Your psychic tells you what you want to hear
Now, let’s forget about the curse for a second. Apart from that message, how were the previous readings or the additional information you gathered from your psychic?
Some scammers will lure you in with the picture of a beautiful future. Things they will promise include:
- Perfect relationships
- Lots of money
With this, a fraud will try to make you want to believe everything they say about your future, which will also make it more likely that you believe them about a curse.
If you’re with a genuine psychic, they will talk to you about everything – the good, the bad, and the ugly.
Life is not just beautiful all the time, and pretending it is will not help you in the future.
Realistically, life has its ups and downs, so a psychic reading should be balanced in that way, too.
10) Your psychic wants you to keep a secret
Last but not least, if your psychic asks you not to tell others what you’ve learned during your reading, you should run the opposite way.
This is a surefire sign of them being a fraud.
Think about it: what motivation could a psychic have to ask you to keep your curse a secret, for example?
Let me tell you: they have used the same scam on many others, and they don’t want you (or the other people) to find out.
A genuine psychic believes that you can share whatever you’re comfortable with, and they would never tell you to keep a reading a secret.
My psychic is a fraud, what now?
You have read through all these signs and noticed that your psychic is most probably a fraud, what does this mean for you?
Well, first of all, you can take a deep sigh of relief, you’re not cursed, never were, and so there is nothing to worry about!
Hopefully, you have noticed this scam before giving them any more money for lifting the curse, and if not, at least you will not fall for something like this again in the future.
What you do next is up to you. You can write the scammer an honest review to warn others, or you could even report them for fraudulent behavior.
Next time you find yourself looking for a psychic, think about the signs we just talked about, and be careful!
My psychic is not a fraud, what now?
If you’ve noticed that your psychic is genuine and authentic according to the signs we mentioned, you might feel scared about an actual curse.
The good news? True curses are extremely rare, so the chance of your psychic being a fraud is much higher than the chance of you actually being cursed.
In this very rare case, a true psychic will guide you exactly through what you need to do, without you having to spend a ton of money on a solution.
Be careful in the world of psychics
You see, the world of psychics is, unfortunately, full of frauds trying to exploit innocent people such as yourself.
In my own experience, it can be difficult to find a genuine psychic that does not focus on money more than anything else.
After this curse experience, you will probably be a lot more careful trusting random mediums from now on.
As a rule of thumb, always listen to your intuition. You know more than you think, and a true psychic will only reinforce that belief!
It’s true, psychics can offer helpful guidance, but ultimately, your fate lies in your own hands.
